New Ramp
In 1944, the SS had a three-part siding built, leading directly to the Birkenau extermination camp. Between two tracks, there was a platform about 10 meters wide: the "New Ramp." On this platform, the Jews deported to Auschwitz were selected, usually by SS physicians.
